Software and the Year 2000
White Pine Software recognizes that the Year 2000 (Y2K) is an industry wide challenge and
a serious business concern for our customers. White Pine Software has prepared this
technical paper to inform customers and partners of our corporate position and product
strategy for the Year 2000. This Year 2000 readiness statement replaces and supercedes any
and all previous Year 2000 statements made by or on behalf of White Pine Software. This
technical note is updated from time to time and is provided for informational purposes
only.White Pine Software’s Products
White Pine Software is committed to making sure that its products and third-party
components are Year 2000 compliant. White Pine is continually reviewing and testing its
product set for Year 2000 compliance. In addition, White Pine Software is reviewing its
suppliers' systems and facilities for Year 2000 readiness.
Year 2000 Compliance Definition:
- All dates that are used for calculations are stored in a
4-digit year format.
- Date functionality behaves consistently for dates prior to,
during, and after the Year 2000.
- Correctly processes leap years, where a leap year occurs in
all years divisible by 400 or evenly divisible by 4 and not evenly divisible by 100.
- Year 2000 statements are obtained from all third-party
vendors for any third-party components.
- Has been tested on Year 2000-Ready operating systems

White Pine Software’s Internal Systems
White Pine Software is currently accumulating a list of all the computer applications and
infrastructure used in the company to determine Year 2000 compliance. White Pine Software
has tested to the best of its ability all of its main mission critical systems and
software programs and has determined these systems to be Year 2000 ready. These include
accounting, manufacturing, support, customer service, and sales systems. White Pine
Software has received Year 2000 readiness statements from a majority of its vendors and
will continue to receive statements from all of its vendors. White Pine Software expects
to be able to continue to supply its customers with a high level of service well beyond
December 31, 1999.
